It’s almost time for NaNoWriMo and I’m so excited! What is NaNoWriMo you say? You’ve never heard of NaNoWriMo? You’re probably thinking it’s some gibberish holiday that some crazy person created because they wanted something to celebrate.
Well if that’s what you’re thinking then you’re wrong!
NaNoWriMo is more commonly known as National Novel Writing Month. Every November people from around the world attempt to write an entire 50,000 plus word novel in a month. Sounds easy right? Not exactly. There’s a reason it’s such an achievement to actually hit that goal.
This will be my fourth year trying to reach it and I’m determined to do it! But then again, my “novel” isn’t exactly a novel in the traditional sense. My “novel” is a new blog I’m going to be launching here soon. Don’t worry I won’t forget or neglect this blog! It’s a side writing project that I got the brilliant idea to do. I don’t want to spoil the fun, so I’m going to refrain from telling you any more about it, but just know that it’s going to be awesome (well, hopefully).
I decided to use this project for my NaNoWriMo goal to help kickstart the content. I’d like to be able to keep the posts on there to a schedule. And then after November, I’ll work on some additional content that will help enhance this new blog project.
In order for me to be able to reach the goal of 50,000 words by the end of Novenber, I need to write 1,666 words. In years past, I didn’t finish because I got busy doing other things. Now that I have a baby, it’s going to be even harder, but I’m determined to do it.
I’d love to have some of you all to help keep me accountable. And if you’re going to participate too, that’s even better as we can help keep each other accountable for staying on track!
Tell me in the comments if you’re going to be participating in NaNoWriMo this year. Have you ever done it before and have you finished? I’d love to hear success stories to keep me motivated!
