I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve last written on the blog but it feels like just yesterday I was speaking to you all. Much has changed and much has caused me to be almost silent for these past months, so I wanted to apologize and let you all know a bit about what’s been going on with our little family and in turn, I hope you’ll share some fun adventures you’ve had or will be having!
Our first exciting adventure, and really the BIGGEST reason I haven’t been writing as much is:
1. A new baby is coming!
I found out I was pregnant in October. We’d been trying for the most part of last year and finally getting that positive test was almost surreal! But of course, with pregnancy, comes ZERO energy for me. If it wasn’t for my day job and Marvel, I’d probably just sleep all day.
Not only did we find out that we are having a new baby, but we found out in January that it’ll be another little girl! To say that our first daughter Marvel is excited would be an understatement. She’s thrilled to be a big sister and have a little sister of her own! Having a little sister is definitely her dream!
Baby girl, whom we’ve decided to name Marceline, will be joining us in June!
2. A new blog
Our next new adventure is starting a new blog! DON’T WORRY, Two Married Geeks isn’t going anywhere. This new blog is focusing on our new endeavors to fight our debt and become more financially free in hopes that we can help others like ourselves.
You can find this blog over at Budgeting Adventures and if you’re interested to get updates, make sure to sign up for our email list!
3. Not attending FanX Spring event
Not really an adventure but definitely something new for us, we will be missing FanX (formerly Salt Lake Comic Con) for the first time ever besides the first-ever event that happened (we missed due to my brother getting married).
This wasn’t a decision that we made lightly. We love going, it’s something we look forward to every time. But even when we don’t spend a LOT of money, it doesn’t help our financial situation. In fact, I know that many of the financial issues we’ve had recently stemmed from going to FanX last fall.
We will try to attend the fall event this year, but for now, we are looking towards the future so we can enjoy those events without the financial stress or worry that we’ve had in the past.
4. Year 2 in our house
Last year we moved into our home making us first-time homebuyers! This month it’ll have been a year since living there and I can’t believe how fast it’s flown by!
I’m excited for year 2 in our home. But I’m going to be honest and tell you that it took us a while to finally unpack some things and there are even more boxes we still need to open…But hey I figure it’ll happen when it happens! Hopefully before baby girl comes.
Even though I haven’t been writing on the blog for some time, I’m making it a goal to update the blog more frequently so I can share and get to learn more about you, my readers. Our new adventures are exciting and when I’m excited about something, I want to share it! I look forward to the future and hearing your wonderful comments and stories! Please don’t be shy about sharing some fun and exciting news with me as it always makes me smile!
